Our first babywearing meeting of the new year was held on January 15, 2008. It was lovely to meet some new mamas and babies. We learned about all the different types of carriers focused mainly on wraps, mei tais and soft structured carriers.

As for wrapping we discussed how to do a FWCC (front wrap cross carry) and a FCC (front cross carry).

As for mei tais, a few of the mamas tried out a BabyHawk and a Mamsemums. We also discussed nursing in a mei tai and the differences between wearing a mei tai apron and non-apron style. For this meeting, mei tais were the general favorite.

We also discussed soft structured carriers (SSC) and we tried out a Connecta and compared it to the SSCs with a structured waist like the Ergo and Patapum.

We had alot of fun talking and we enjoyed having lunch together too. It was such a beautiful day! Can't wait for the next meeting!!!
